Cate Berry is leading a small, intimate creative writing workshop of just six adult writers in person, from February to May of 2026. Spots in the workshop are already beginning to fill, so if you're interested, please register below.
Writers of memoir, essays, short stories, general fiction, and children’s literature are all welcome. Each week, writers may read up to seven double-spaced pages. We will discuss and explore what is exciting, authentic, and “true” within each writer’s own voice. Long projects and short projects are welcome. The environment will be writer-friendly, with an intent toward publishing. $300/month.

Using her distinct "unshakeable artist method" developed over years of experience in the industry, Ms. Berry helps writers identify where their work is true and and authentic to themselves, allowing greater agency and autonomy within traditional publishing.
In other words, you'll become unshakeable to the outside forces of publishing, leaving you happier and healthier in your writing journey and creative life.

About Cate
Cate Berry is an award-winning performer, educator and author of multiple books (Harper Collins, MacMillan, Page Kids). She holds an MFA in Writing from Vermont College of Fine Arts, with an emphasis in humor, and has been a featured presenter at the Texas Book Festival, The Writing Barn, Association of Writers and Writing Programs, and many SCBWI conferences. Ms. Berry is the former humor columnist for Austin Family Magazine and currently enjoys inspiring artists to live and work authentically, so outside influences don't knock them around.
